Shelley Ogilvie Photo When Executive Director Terry Lynn Maracini won an award at Imagine 2008 for achieving Top Organization Volume, it marked another accomplishment on a journey that began in 1989.

That's when Terry started in the Body Wise business with David Maracini, the father of her children. "Nineteen years later, I'm still sharing Body Wise, believing in the health benefits for myself and my family," says Terry, whose family includes daughters Adriana, 22, attending college in Colorado, and Daniela, 20, attending college in Idaho. Even though they're far from home, both daughters are on ARO, so Terry feels good knowing they get optimum nutrition.

Everybody has their own way of working the Body Wise business. Terry's approach to business isn't just a quick product sell. She looks for doctors, business builders and people who want to be on ARO.

She targets these prospects by maintaining an energetic presence in the community, attending new business openings and networking.

In building her team, she likes to surround herself with people who have specialized knowledge in nutrition, health care and business, so they can answer questions and provide expert guidance to new prospects and her down line.

Then Terry selects fun venues to introduce people to Body Wise, from a boat in Dana Point Harbor to restaurants, or a Chamber of Commerce luncheon. Choose a larger venue whenever possible, Terry advises, because with more people, the more chances of finding a business builder or new Consultant.

At presentations, she uses the tools the company provides and adds her own kick to it.

"It's all about attitude," explains Terry. "You have to be real. People want to know that you're authentic, that you really believe what you're saying. At the same time you're also listening to their needs.  If you appear to be a robot reading from a script, it's not going to work."

The success of her business and the residual income it provides, allows Terry to live an enviable stress-free lifestyle, spend more time with her family and give back to the community.

While her work with Body Wise helps improve other people's health and financial futures, she also shines in helping in child advocacy and domestic violence.

"Body Wise gives me time to bring people together to raise money for charities," says Terry. "I'm good at it, and I do it because it's the right thing to do."
